It can be difficult to get into a home workout routine. Your home is likely filled with distractions, whether it be the people you live with or the things on your to-do list. This is a little bit different than working out with a buddy. Working out with a buddy can also be helpful, as having someone hold you accountable can help you succeed. Some people share their goals on social media because they will have an audience waiting and cheering them on.
Not on social media? That’s okay! You can share your goals with family members, friends, and co-workers. By asking them to check in once a week, they can hold you accountable for doing your home workout routine and making progress. If you are the only one holding you responsible, you only have yourself to disappoint. If someone else holds you accountable, you might be less willing to disappoint them.

Set goals and reward yourself
Setting goals is so important to staying motivated. When a person sets a goal and meets it, this can help them achieve harder goals. It is also important to ensure you set smaller goals achievable in a short amount of time and larger goals that might take time.
Once you meet those smaller goals, reward yourself. This could be with a fun outing, the purse you want, or the pride of feeling and looking better. If you are only setting large goals, there is more of a chance you will get discouraged and quit. By setting both types of goals, you can keep yourself engaged in your at-home workout routine.
Be kind to yourself
If an event does happen that prevents you from completing your home workout routine for a day, be kind to yourself. When it only happens occasionally, don’t beat yourself up. If you come up with an excuse every day, then perhaps you need to reassess your goals and home workout routine.
Being kind to yourself is healthy. Feel good about getting a workout in, and forgive yourself when the day was just too long. If you need a break, take a break, but get back into your home workout routine the following day. Everyone needs a day off to recuperate.

Based on your goals, you will want to ensure you have the right equipment to succeed. If you are a runner, you might think about getting a treadmill. Looking to tone up? Get some hand weights, resistance bands, or a mat.

Making a habit of anything is tough, and it takes time to get into a good home workout routine. However, with these tips, your at-home workout routine can be much more successful. Take time out for yourself, call on someone to help, and make your workouts enjoyable.
